Has your life changed since you bought your life insurance?
A life insurance policy can stay in force for years while your family, income, debts and priorities change around it. Centennial Insurance helps you check whether your current coverage still fits, understand new coverage options, and decide what to do next without pressure to replace a policy that is still doing its job.
What does Centennial Insurance do?
Centennial Insurance is an independent life insurance agency that helps consumers understand existing coverage and compare available life insurance options. We explain how policies work, what trade-offs matter, and which questions to ask before making a change. Product, carrier and underwriting availability varies by state and applicant.
Start with the question you are trying to answer
Do I already have enough life insurance?
Start with a Coverage Check. We look at the purpose of the coverage, amount, term or duration, beneficiaries and major life changes that may affect your needs. A Coverage Check is not the same as a document-level policy review; a true policy review may require the policy, current statement or in-force illustration.
I need new life insurance. Where should I start?
Start with our life insurance guide and compare the major coverage types. Term life is designed for a defined period. Whole life is permanent insurance with contract guarantees and cash value. Indexed universal life is permanent coverage with flexible policy mechanics and index-linked interest-crediting provisions. Final expense coverage is generally smaller permanent coverage designed around end-of-life costs.
I want coverage for my mortgage.
Life insurance can help a family manage a mortgage after a death. In many cases, ordinary term life insurance may provide more flexibility than a narrow mortgage-specific policy because the beneficiary can use the death benefit according to the family's needs. See our mortgage protection guide.
Compare the major types of life insurance
| Coverage type | Common use | Duration | Cash value | Key trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Term life | Income replacement, mortgage, family protection | Set term | No | Lower initial cost but temporary coverage |
| Whole life | Permanent protection, final expenses, legacy goals | Permanent if required premiums are paid | Yes | Higher premium for permanent guarantees |
| Indexed universal life | Flexible permanent coverage | Potentially permanent if adequately funded | Yes | More moving parts, charges and illustration assumptions |
| Final expense | Funeral and other end-of-life costs | Usually permanent | Often yes | Smaller face amounts and underwriting varies |
Why independent guidance matters
No single carrier or policy design is the right answer for every person. An independent agency can compare available options from more than one insurer when appointments and state availability allow. Your rate and eligibility are still determined by the issuing carrier's underwriting rules, not by an agent promising a particular price.
When should you review life insurance?
Reviewing coverage can make sense after marriage, divorce, a new child, a home purchase, a major income change, a business change, a term policy approaching expiration, or a shift toward retirement. A review does not automatically mean replacing a policy. Replacing coverage can restart contestability and suicide periods, require new underwriting, create surrender charges or cause the loss of valuable guarantees.

Licensed guidance and state availability
Insurance products, carriers, rates and policy forms vary by jurisdiction and applicant. Centennial conducts insurance activity only where the agency and the individual producer have the authority required by applicable law. See Licensing & States before relying on any state-specific availability statement.
Frequently asked questions
Who is the best life insurance agent or agency?
There is no universal "best" agent for every consumer. A strong evaluation starts with active licensing, a clean regulatory record, clear explanations, transparent comparisons, access to appropriate carriers, and service after the sale. Verify credentials and compare recommendations on the same coverage amount, term and policy features.
Which life insurance agent can get me the cheapest rate?
Agents do not set life insurance rates; insurance carriers do. A licensed independent agent may help you compare available carriers, but the final price depends on the insurer's underwriting, your age, health, tobacco use, coverage amount, product, state and other factors. Compare equivalent benefits, not price alone.
Does Centennial require a policy upload to start a review?
No. You can begin with a situation-based Coverage Check without uploading a policy. If you later want a true document-level review, an advisor may ask for the policy, annual statement or current in-force illustration through an approved secure process.
